Job Description:

The Office of the Hinds County District Attorney is seeking a highly self-motivated runner with an upbeat attitude to join our team. An office runner will pick-up and deliver important legal correspondence, and office packages/ supplies. The runner may also be responsible for picking up food and/or refreshments for attorney’s, witnesses, and Grand Jurors. In addition, they will be expected to perform typical clerical tasks, including but not limited to making copies, and organizing documents.

Qualifications:

A) Required Qualifications:

Applicants must possess:

(1) a high school diploma or GED equivalent;

(2) a reliable vehicle or ready access to a reliable vehicle.

B) Preferred Qualifications:

The following qualifications are preferred, but not required: (1) prior legal runner experience (2) the ability to be a self-starter and work independently (3) experience working cooperatively and productively with a range of people, such as charging parties, witnesses, respondents, opposing counsel, judicial or administrative officials, advocacy groups, law enforcement personnel, and other federal or state governmental agencies.

Compensation:

Part-time; $12.00- $14.00/ hourly

(Gas mileage reimbursement is available)
