Guilty Verdict After Double Shooting Leaves Ex-Girlfriend Dead, Boyfriend Injured September 11th, 2025 (Jackson, MS) Hinds County District Attorney Jody E. Owens, II, announced today that a jury has found 32-year-old Zverian Brent guilty of Second-Degree Murder and Aggravated Assault for the 2022 home-invasion killing of his ex-girlfriend, 26-year-old Terrencia Jackson, and shooting of 31-year-old Henry Perry.   The incident occurred in the early morning hours of June 7, 2022, when Brent forcibly kicked in the carport door of Jackson’s home on Fleetwood Drive in South Jackson. Terrorizer Pleads Guilty to a Spree of Crimes in South Jackson March 5, 2025 (Jackson, MS) – Hinds County District Attorney Jody E. Owens, II, announced that Steven Jones, Jr. pleaded guilty to six charges, including four counts of armed robbery and two counts of kidnapping, on Monday, March 3, 2025. Jones’ crimes, which took place in South Jackson, began on March 19, 2023, and continued for two weeks thereafter, prompting a series of emergency calls to Jackson Police.
