Guilty Verdict in Double Murder of Teen and Beloved “Snake Man”  September 17th, 2025 (Jackson, MS) Hinds County District Attorney Jody E. Owens, II, announced today that a jury has found 35-year-old, Jamarrio Bell, guilty on two counts of First-Degree Murder in the shooting deaths of 19-year-old Jarvis Birtfield and 57-year-old Percy “Snake Man” King.   On the evening of January 12, 2018, Jackson Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting at Percy King’s residence on Scott Street in Jackson. Two Life Sentences and Additional 10 Years for Double Murder March 3, 2025 (Jackson, MS) Hinds County District Attorney Jody E. Owens, II, announced a guilty verdict in the trial of Jermaine White. He was convicted of two counts of murder and one count of felony possession of a firearm. On January 23, 2022, officers responded to a shooting that occurred at Rainbow Hotel, where KiaraPoole and Samantha Cannon were fatally shot. Both women had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
