Guilty Plea Secures 40 Year Sentence in Belhaven Delivery Driver Murder May 5, 2026 (Jackson, MS) – Hinds County District Attorney Jody E. Owens, II, announced today that Darren Shannon, 25, plead guilty to Second-Degree Murder in the shooting death of 39-year-old Corey Price, a food delivery driver in the Belhaven neighborhood. Shannon was sentenced to 40 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
