State v. christopher butler June 5, 2024 (Jackson, MS) Hinds County District Attorney Jody E. Owens, II, announces the successful prosecution in the three-day trial of Christopher Butler, who was convicted of first-degree murder. On April 27, 2018, JPD officers responded to a shooting where they found an unidentified male lying at the intersection of Terry Rd and Colonial Drive. The male was later identified as 36-year-old Damian Harris who succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Butler shot and killed Harris over an on-going dispute.
