 Request to Exercise Victims’ Rights

This form allows victims to formally request the exercise of their statutory rights under Mississippi law, including the right to be informed, present, and heard during critical stages of the criminal justice process.

Victim Bill of Rights
An overview of the legal rights guaranteed to crime victims in Mississippi, including the right to dignity, fairness, protection, notification, participation in proceedings, and restitution when appropriate.
 
Victim Impact Statement
A document that gives victims or their families an opportunity to describe how a crime has affected their lives emotionally, physically, and financially. This statement is often reviewed by the court during sentencing.
 
Victim Compensation Application
Provides financial assistance to victims of violent crime for expenses such as medical treatment, counseling, lost wages, and funeral costs. The form guides victims through the state’s compensation program administered by the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office.

Expungement Motion Templates

These templates assist individuals or attorneys in drafting formal motions to request the expungement (removal) of criminal records from public access under Mississippi law.

 Motion – Felony Conviction 

Used to request expungement of a felony conviction that meets statutory eligibility requirements, typically after successful completion of the sentence and a required waiting period.

Motion – No indictment/No Bill 

Used when a grand jury has declined to indict (returned a “No Bill”) or no indictment was ever filed, allowing the individual to seek expungement of the arrest record.

Motion – Dismissed / No Disposition 

Filed when a case was dismissed, nolle prosequi (not prosecuted), or ended without a formal conviction or finding, allowing the removal of associated records.

Expungement order templates

These templates are used by judges to issue formal court orders granting expungement once a motion has been approved.

Order – Felony Conviction

Judicial order authorizing the expungement of a felony conviction that meets legal criteria, removing it from public criminal history.

Order – Case Remanded

Issued when a higher court remands (returns) a case to a lower court for further action and an expungement is subsequently granted by that lower court.

Order – No Bill

Used to formally remove arrest and case records after a grand jury issues a “No Bill” (declines to indict).

Order – No Disposition

Applies to cases that were filed but never adjudicated or resolved; removes any public record of that case.

Order – NAOG (Non-Adjudication of Guilt)

Used when a defendant successfully completes a non-adjudication program (such as probation or diversion). The order clears the case from public view in accordance with state statute.

Order – Felony Reduced to Misdemeanor 

Authorizes expungement of a case where a felony charge was formally reduced to a misdemeanor and the sentence has been successfully completed.
