December 11th, 2025

On December 11, 2025, the Hinds County District Attorney’s Office hosted its 5th Annual Holiday Toy Drive, paired with a retirement gala honoring Chief Assistant District Attorney Jamie McBride. The evening brought together colleagues, community partners, and supporters for a meaningful celebration centered on service, gratitude, and legacy. The Holiday Toy Drive marked the fifth year of the office’s commitment to giving back to children and families during the holiday season. Through the generosity of sponsors, staff, and community partners, toys were collected and distributed to Canopy Children’s Solutions, Matt’s House Shelter for Women & Children, and Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital. These donations helped bring comfort, joy, and a sense of normalcy to children and families facing difficult circumstances during the holidays.

The evening also served as a retirement celebration for Mr. McBride, recognizing a career marked by leadership, dedication, and lasting impact. Throughout his tenure, he played a significant role in shaping the work and culture of the District Attorney’s Office, mentoring colleagues, guiding complex cases, and serving the people of Hinds County with professionalism and care.

By combining the Holiday Toy Drive with a retirement celebration, the event reflected the values that guide the District Attorney’s Office, a commitment to public service, community engagement, and appreciation for those whose work leaves a lasting mark. The gala provided space to reflect on years of service while continuing a tradition of
giving back to the community.

The District Attorney’s Office remains grateful to everyone who supported the Toy Drive and joined in honoring Mr. McBride’s legacy, helping make the evening both meaningful and impactful.
